What we believe

  1. About God God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1, 26,27; 3:22; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 14; Acts 5:3, 4; I Corinthians 8:6; I Peter 1:2 2.
  2. About Mankind We are all made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. We are the supreme objects of God’s creation. Although mankind has tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates us from God. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2
  3. About Eternity We all were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. The place of eternal separation from God is called Hell. Heaven is the place of eternal union and eternal life with God. John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:41 (Hell); Matthew 25:34; Revelation 21:27 (Heaven)
  4. About Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and is fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return to claim His people for their eternal reward in Heaven. Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; I Corinthians 15:3, 4; Romans 1:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; I Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13
  5. About Salvation Salvation is a gift from God to mankind. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6 ; John 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1
  6. About the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make mankind aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for godly living and ministry, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily. II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; John 14: 6, 7; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12; I Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1
  7. About the Bible The Bible is God’s word to all mankind. Human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote it. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspired it, it is truth without any mixture of error. II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:20, 21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5
  8. About the Church The Church is the living body of Christ on earth. Jesus Christ is the head and source of its life. The Church is made up of all people who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. All Christians are encouraged to regularly assemble for worship, study of the Scriptures, fellowship, and prayer.. Acts 2:42; I Peter 2:9; I Corinthians 10:32; I Corinthians 12:13; I Timothy 3:15; Colossians 1:13, 18; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 5:23-32; Hebrews 10:25
  9. About the Second Coming of Christ Jesus Christ will one day return to earth to raise the dead, judge the world and then establish His glorious kingdom. This is the hope of the church. Those who have been saved by His grace through faith will live forever with Him. Matthew 24:27, 30, 42-44; Matthew 25:31; I Corinthians 15:52; Mark 13:32; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Thessalonians 5:1-11; Acts 1:7, 11; II Peter 3:1-14; Hebrews 9:27-28; Revelation 1:7
  10. About Marriage  Biblical marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive covenant union. God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. Genesis 2:18-25; Ephesians 5:21-33; 1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4
